In honor of Earth Month, Edison International and Southern California Edison volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help protect and preserve California’s environments.
With events throughout the month, volunteers participated in habitat restoration, invasive species removal, beach clean ups and tree giveaways.
Together, the efforts reflect the company’s long-standing commitment to building a brighter tomorrow and cleaner future.
In partnership with TreePeople, Edison supported residential tree giveaway events in the communities of Paramount and El Monte.
Each attendee was given one free tree to take home with them.
Participants had the opportunity to attend a tree planting demonstration which helped teach them how to properly transition their new sapling into the soil.
Hundreds of drought-tolerant shade and fruit trees were distributed to customers.
Partnering with the California State Parks Foundation, volunteers participated in restoration work at Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, Chino Hills State Park and Crystal Cove State Park.
Participants helped remove invasive species, improve trail conditions and plant drought-tolerant native plants uniquely adapted to thrive in California’s Mediterranean climate.
Volunteers worked alongside California State Parks staff to help protect the coastline and nearby marine habitats.
